Birthdays were a fine time to pull out the movie cameras. Looking back over these milestone events is fun to watch how young we once were and the simple joys of a birthday party. With the film transferred to DVD, you can jump right to that funny incident, freeze on a particular frame, or study the faces of people who left their childhood years ago. Kids always get a kick out of watching other kids. Watching the antics of kids who are now adults brings the generations closer together. Super 8 provided a bigger frame with even more detail than the original standard 8mm films. Many vacations, travels, birthdays and special events were preserved for posterity on Super 8 films. Our digital capture process captures the whole film with 4 times the number of pixels as a standard VHS videotape. The fine detail captured by the Super8 films can finally be clearly seen. We make sure to capture the whole frame to catch the people on the edges. Some of our customers have seen people on the films for the first time after watching one of the DVDs we made because our process captures the whole image in fine detail. 8mm film was a favorite to capture family memories. You could select from a variety of film types and drop the film off at the drugstore or camera shop or put a package tied with string into the mail for processing. You'll be amazed at how much quality the film has kept over time. With our gentle handling process, and full frame, precise digital frame captures you may see details you've never seen before. The
magical memories of Holidays and the special remembrances they bring
are fun to relive. Some of our customers have DVDs specially created
for the holidays when family, extended families can join together for
live narration of the silent screen by those that were there. It helps
to bond families and bring back the good memories of those special events
There are few things more powerful than a moving picture to capture your legacy. The ability to share a copy that is as clear and crisp as the original media with ALL of your friends and family is priceless. The moving picture on the films captures your world at a point in time. Being able to share it with everyone now makes it a part of history. The
movie camera was often brought along to capture those once-in-a-lifetime
events. The event may have been permanently recorded, but if it stays
in the storage can it doesn't become a part of history. When you can
relive the memory and share it with your friends again you can drift
back in time to and bring back the memories that may have faded. Stories
take on a whole new vibrancy when they are accompanied by moving pictures.
The quality of of digital film transfers is superb. Our equipment was custom designed and assembled by an independent producer who does Hollywood special effects for a living. Each frame is digitally captured, one frame at a time. Special digital filters create a smooth, flicker free image on your TV while keeping the crispness of the original image. For excellent quality video we use MPEG-2 compression technology like digital cable, satellite TV, and Hollywood DVDs to create our DVDs. If you are into video editing or are looking for the individual digital still frames, we can provide you with a digital file containing each individual frame that uses no interframe compression. The content is burned onto DVDs. According to our media suppliers, DVDs should last a hundred years. The nice thing about the data being in digital format is that even if some new technology replaces DVD, you will be able to transfer the digital content to the new media without any loss of quality. The content will not fade.
Customers who are into video editing can order a special file from us so that they can combine their old films with newer digital video, or simply use digital editing on computers to make a production. We also have an
optional service for customers who aren't interested in purchasing
an editing computer system. This is an economical way to edit your
films. Here is how it works: Some of our customer have had their films transferred to VHS tape in the past or have asked us if we will provide a VHS tape from the film. We offer VHS videotape as an option. With this option, a DVD is made as well to retain the high quality capture on a media that doesn't fade. If you had you film converted to VHS tapes 10 or more years ago, you might have started to notice the quality of the VHS tape deteriorating. We can convert those VHS tapes to DVD for you to freeze the quality at its current level. VHS tape wasn't designed to be a permanent storage media and it will degrade with either time or multiple playbacks. We recommend creating DVDs directly from original films. VHS tape has a resolution of 320 X 240 pixels compared with the DVD resolution of 720 X 480, resulting in more than 4 times the clarity and resolution. In addition most transfers to VHS cut off about 10% of the edges of the frame and the transfers did not use digital filtering so the playback isn't as smooth or clear as our transfer capabilities.
